After being ousted by her economic policies, which sent shockwaves through the markets and split the Conservative Party just six weeks into office, Liz Truss said Thursday that she will resign as prime minister.
Following the near-total elimination of her political authority due to the market crisis, the resignation of her two key ministers, and her virtually complete lack of credibility with her own parliamentarians, Truss made her announcement outside Downing Street.

By leaving office after only 45 days, Truss will hold the record for the shortest tenure as prime minister in British history.

Truss easily defeated the former Conservative Secretary of the Treasury in this summer's leadership election, winning party membership by promising tax cuts and regulation without cutting government spending. She has repeatedly warned that her plan to finance it with additional borrowing is reckless and could exacerbate decades of UK inflation and market confidence.

Now that he was completely right, Truss scrapped the plan and replaced the former Treasury Secretary with Snack's successor, Jeremy Hunt, so some think he is the perfect Conservative MP to replace Truss.
